NLP for children and teens

NLP for children and teenagers

I offer NLP for children and teens aged 4-18, to help them to develop essential life skills such as communication, confidence and self-esteem. Improving these skills can benefit educational achievement and their activities and relationships outside school. I can also help young people with skills to achieve specific goals, eg preparing for exams, interviews, sports events, or performances.

How can NLP coaching help children and teens?

Getting through traumatic experiences

“We took our daughter to see Diana after a few long years of her struggling to go to and stay asleep. Within a very short space of time we were seeing improvements … she is now sleeping all the way through every night.”

“My 15 year old son was at breaking point, full of sadness and negative thoughts. After just the first session we started to see a difference … With Diana’s help he has now turned a corner, he smiles from the inside and his self-confidence is shining through.”

“My 16 year old daughter saw Diana for anxiety and depression … We have seen many counsellors over the years, but no one got anywhere near helping us like Diana did.”

My NLP therapy work with children and teenagers

Sessions with children and teens can be either in-person (at my therapy studio near Sevenoaks, or a location of your choice) or online. I usually work alone with children aged 7 and above, to build a direct rapport with them, but I always invite parents to attend the first session.

Hypnotherapy isn’t a standard part of the approach I take with NLP for children and teenagers, but it can be beneficial in more complex cases. Hypnosis is perfectly safe for any age child because it is a relaxed state that they already experience naturally, whether when learning, watching television or doing something creative.

Is NLP for children and young people effective?

Children tend to respond very well to NLP therapy and we often see positive results in a very short space of time (2-5 sessions). This is because young minds are usually more open to the idea of improvement than adult minds. As with anyone taking part in NLP therapy, it’s important that the child is committed to achieving the results they want to see. Support from the main carers, other family members and even teachers is also invaluable.

Can NLP therapy work with additional learning needs?

I use the Empowering Learning approach to support children and young people who have Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) including dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADD/ADHD, Tourette’s Syndrome, dyspraxia, dysgraphia, autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. The approach helps children and young people to develop visual learning techniques, improve focus and concentration, and get into the best possible emotional state for learning. It also provides families with a framework for supporting their child’s learning.
